Colorpro collaborated closely with Metallon Inc., the company that is responsible for the structural elements of the stairways.
“One of the advantages to using Colorpro is that we can do all the work in-house. We made all of the panels and completed the edgework and two different types of sandblasting all under one roof,” said S. Joseph Green, president of Glaspro Inc.
Glaspro’s Colorpro Division is also responsible for creating several laminated glass panels that separate areas of the library. The company manufactured two sets of custom order glass panels. One set of panels integrated transparent interlayers with photographic images. The custom-design 45-inch by 90-inch panels each featured different photographic images and colors. Green added, “Very few glass manufacturers can do this type of work.

Glaspro Inc. the West Coast’s predominant creator of custom architectural glass, has announced that its Colorpro Division has completed custom architectural glass elements integral to the overall interior design of the new Cerritos Millennium Library, the first titanium-clad building in the United States. The library located in Cerritos, California, features over 100 bent and laminated glass panels used as handrails on five elaborate stairways leading from floor to floor. Colorpro created an intricate cresting wave pattern in the glass that flows from panel to panel. To create this look, Colorpro etched and sandblasted the glass with two separate grits.
