The J.A.G.U. National Automotive Glass Technical Contest was held during the 7th International Auto Aftermarket in Tokyo, Japan.

The competition was organised by J.A.G.U., the Japanese member organisation of the International Automotive Glass Federation. The event was the first in a row of national Master Fitter Competitions, organised under the auspices of the Federation.

An audience of 300 visitors watched the performances of six autoglass specialists, each winner of earlier regional competitions. In his speech during the award presentation J.A.G.U. President Hisashi Ebina underlined the professionalism of all participants. “You all are good models of the need of high quality on our jobs, especially for the safety of car drivers and their passengers”, he said.

The ultimate Japanese champion Mr. Toshiyuki Isohata will represent Japan during The International Master Fitter Competition® 2008 later on this year.

International Automotive Glass Federation started at the end of 2007. It concentrates especially on technical standards and codes, training programmes and health and safety issues. The activities will also be visible in national and international competitions for autoglass technicians or fitters.
