A California company that makes fiberglass insulation for the aerospace industry will bring 90 $12- to $14-an-hour manufacturing jobs to Tucson, it said Friday.

Glass Fiber Inc.'s announcement that it will move into the former Imation Corp. building at 8500 S. Rita Road brings to three the number of manufacturers lured here since the July 1 inception of regional economic development agency Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities, or Treo.

"We're on a roll here. We've built some momentum," said Pima County Supervisor and TREO board member Sharon Bronson. "These are the kinds of jobs we want here, the kinds of jobs that will improve our economy while sustaining our quality of life."

Glass Fiber will buy the 88,000-square-foot building adjacent to the University of Arizona Science and Technology Park and hopes to begin operations in November, said TREO President and CEO Joe Snell.

The Chino, Calif.-based company expects to generate an annual payroll of $2.6 million, with most employees recruited from the Tucson area.
