Automation specialist GEROLD presented its latest solutions for efficient glass production at the most recent glasstec show in Duesseldorf/Germany. For industrial screen printing GEROLD presented a laser projection system as part of a set-up time reduction feature.
This allows printer change-over by one person in only a few minutes.
The system demo found an attentive audience, which showed broad interest and acknowledgement.
For manufacturers of premium glass flacons and high-quality containers GEROLD exhibited a modular production cell for automatically picking individual flacons/containers and placing those into trays. The use of vision systems allows picking moving objects and checking the trays for obstacles/defects prior to placement.
Contrary to working with crowded batches of glass containers this prevents the surface-sensitive products from touching each other. Furthermore, speed and repeat-accuracy with packaging are significantly increased.
