'B-ing There', the Scottish arm of Edgetech's 'Journey to C' FREE practical Window Energy Ratings workshops kicked off in style last Wednesday with more than 80 delegates representing Scotland's leading sealed unit manufacturers and fabricators in attendance at Murrayfield Stadium.

As well as giving delegates FREE Thermal Simulation Reports by BFRC Certified Simulators; FREE System Air Leakage Reports; FREE factory process control system document template; Introduction to appropriate accredited IG provider; and a Diary date for an Independent Assessor audit, the BFRC's Giles Willson, and Buildcheck's Richard Bate gave a practical view on the pending regulation changes and how to achieve the required B rating for Scotland.

Alan Fielder, Director of Sales and Marketing at Edgetech comments: "We were delighted with how the event went, and the feedback was great with many companies expressing the value of the Q+A sessions, access to industry experts and individual consultations with Independent Assessors and representatives from Edgetech. We also gave delegates an exclusive look at the innovative Sparklike product - the Gasglass argon and krypton detector - for which Edgetech is now the UK's sole distributor.

"We are looking forward to continuing the road shows over coming weeks, and although some of our venues are almost full, it's not too late to register. Simply fill out the registration form at www.journeytoc.co.uk.

"Here's what one of the delegates had to say about the day: "As an educational tool, the workshop was really valuable in informing the market about Window Energy Ratings and also in expressing the reality of the tightening legislation. In addition, from a practical perspective the event was very well organised with each delegate receiving a memory stick containing all the information from the day giving them an opportunity to study everything in their own time." Richard Yule, AC Yule's Operations Director Callum Grant, Commercial Director of Norscot Joinery comments: "The inevitability of more stringent legislation due to hit Scottish window manufacturers was really brought home on the day, and as well as having direct access to independent experts, the practical information on how to actually achieve Window Energy Ratings was really useful. It's encouraging to see such investment by Edgetech on behalf of the industry."
