Edgetech announces at glasstec the opening of a new facility in Germany

Edgetech I.G., headquartered in Cambridge, Ohio, on September 29 announced the opening of its new warm-edge technology manufacturing facility in Heinsberg, Germany.

The announcement was made during a press conference at the Glasstec trade show, which the mayor of Heinsberg attended.



According to Andy Jones, sales director and general manager for Edgetech UK, the new 33,000-square-foot facility, which will primarily produce silicone-based products, will be opening in January 2011.



"Europe is a crucial strategic market", he said. The company has sales team and distributors in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Scandinavia, Spain, Poland and Czech Republic.

Edgetech I.G., created also a website (http://www.edgetech-europe.com/), with content in 11 different languages.  "We want to show our customers we are totally committed to Europe".



"In 2010, we experienced 85 percent growth", continued Andy Jones, "in 2011, we’re expecting an additional 50 percent".



In commenting on the company’s growth worldwide, Jones noted that the company is forecasting that it will produce 2 billion feet of its warm-edge spacer product by April 2011; the company hit its 1 billion mark in 2008.
