GLASSOLUTIONS is bringing its proven low-energy glazing systems for residential newbuild and refurb to Ecobuild 2013, along with eco-innovations for education and office buildings, as part of the Group’s ‘day in the life experience’ (stand N310).

Building on the success of last year’s show, at which the company launched its Solaglas to GLASSOLUTIONS rebrand, the company will show how its triple glazed sealed units featuring SGG PLANITHERM One deliver windows which are ideal for newbuild to Passivhaus standards. In addition to excellent thermal insulation with whole window U-values as low as 0.8W/m2K and no cold bridging at the edges, the neutrality of the glass is exceptional to ensure clarity of vision and the appearance of double glazing.

GLASSSOLUTIONS will also be demonstrating how superior thermal efficiency standards can be achieved in domestic refurbishment projects using its double glazed sealed units. The stand will feature a display showing how a typical upgraded solid wall terraced house can accommodate GLASSOLUTIONS sealed units to achieve A+ rated windows.

A solution for the education market will also be on show in the form of a façade featuring SGG COOL-LITE SKN glazing designed to minimise the risk of summertime overheating and reliance on energy intensive comfort cooling. This presents an innovative and effective façade for low energy schools, colleges and universities.

For the office market, GLASSOLUTIONS will be displaying a façade complete with solar and acoustic control glazing to reduce energy usage in buildings without any adverse impact on the clarity of windows.

The ‘day in the life’ experience provided at the Saint Gobain stand will show how products and systems from the Group’s UK businesses - including GLASSOLUTIONS – can be found across a wide range of construction types and sectors in everyday life.

Mike Butterick, marketing director for GLASSOLUTIONS said: “The energy reduction drivers continue to demand new ways to approach both newbuild and refurbishment projects and we are delighted to be able to offer architects and contractors a range of practical solutions to meet these challenges. We exhibit at Ecobuild as part of the Saint-Gobain Group stand which perfectly illustrates our capabilities to integrate glazing with other building fabric components manufactured by Group companies for the creation of thermally superior structures.”
