By year’s end, Easton may join a limited fraternity of Lehigh Valley communities that regulate the placement of solar panels.
City Councilwoman Elinor Warner, council's liaison to the environmental advisory council, proposed a solar panel ordinance to planning commissioners earlier this month for comment. The city needs to protect property owners’ “solar rights” but also needs the ability to regulate how panels are installed and where, she said.

Warner likened the issue to satellite dishes that appear haphazardly on homes all over the city, she said.
