Eastman donated 3,000 square-meters of material to ETC, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of lighting and rigging technology. ETC began manufacturing face shields in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and plans to deliver thousands of shields locally and nationally.
“We’re extremely proud to contribute materials to ETC for this important cause,” Jim Bowen, Eastman site manager, said. “I am proud of how our teams stepped up to deliver the materials quickly and safely so our local healthcare workers can be as safe as possible on the frontlines of this pandemic.”
Face shields have become an essential tool for helping to protect personnel in medical fields and others on the front lines of battling the epidemic. The shields help protect people from droplets produced by coughing and sneezing and can help prevent workers from touching their faces.
“We moved very quickly to get these face shields into production,” said Dick Titus, ETC President and CEO. “We appreciate Eastman’s contributions to this very important effort.”
Eastman’s Sun Prairie site is part of its Advanced Materials operating segment and specializes in converting and laminating interlayers for the automotive and architectural laminated glass markets.
