PITTSBURGH, Aug. 14, 2012 – PPG Industries (NYSE:PPG) announced that a new series of window products featuring DURANAR(R) coatings was among the winners of the 2012 Glass Magazine Awards announced earlier this month.

The awards recognize the best products and glass applications in 18 categories in the commercial, retail and fabrication markets as voted by a panel of judges.
Duranar coatings are offered as an optional finish for frames on the EnerGsave G-500 Window Series from Peerless Products, Inc., which was named in Glass Magazine as the year’s “most innovative commercial window.” Peerless Products customers can order window frames finished with a two-coat Duranar system engineered to provide long-term color and gloss retention in normal building environments.

Formulated by PPG with proprietary resins, pigments and solvents, Duranar coatings have a 40-year track record of performance in high-visibility metal architectural applications such as building panels, curtain walls, window frames and storefronts where appearance and durability are essential.

To determine winners, the Glass Magazine staff compiled nominations and photographs for a panel of 27 judges representing all areas of the glass industry, and then the panel selected a winner in each category.
