A team of DuPont Crop Protection scientists has won the 2003 American Chemical Society (ACS) Award for Team Innovation for its work on a new environmentally friendly insecticide.

The official announcement of the award was made in the August 19 issue of Chemical & Engineering News magazine.

The five-member team includes George Lahm, Steve McCann, Keith Wing, Charlie Harrison and Raf Shapiro (now with Bristol-Myers Squibb). They are being recognized for their outstanding innovations that led to the discovery of indoxacarb, a new insecticide that combines a new mode of action with exceptional safety to crops, people and the environment.

The award will be presented at the 225th ACS National Meeting in March 2003 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
