The packages were sent to the relatives of employees who are members of the U.S. armed forces. They contained a variety of goodies - including baked goods, candy, handkerchiefs, patriotic stickers and other items. Each package also contained a letter from the site's employees, saying, in part: "We know and understand the great sacrifices you're making by having to live so far away from your family and friends. It takes great courage and integrity to serve in our (U.S.) armed forces."
Towanda Plant Manager Frank Pinkosky said that employees at the site wanted to reach out to the members of the U.S. military who have been called on following the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States. "This effort is intended to let our service men and women know that we are thinking about them and praying for their safe return. It is consistent with the caring nature of our site personnel who want to stand up and be supportive during these difficult times."
DuPont send care packages to members of U.S. Military
DuPont employees at our site in Towanda, Pennsylvania, recently mailed care packages to about 30 members of the U.S. military, a number of whom are directly involved in supporting "Operation Enduring Freedom" and the U.S. actions in Afghanistan.
