Two of the schools benefiting from the program are located in areas where DuPont Crop Protection operates.
Approximately 350 students and 20 teachers recently attended a talk by Hushim Hj Salleh, a motivational speaker and lecturer from the University of Malaysia. After the talk, students participated in a "recall" process aimed at developing skills in mathematics, science, and English.
The session is one in a series of programs planned for this year. Other outreach activities include science camps and competitions. DuPont Malaysia also sponsors monthly tuition for these children.
"This is a good way to motivate children to perform well. It affords the children the opportunity to realize their potential," said Hapiz Abdullah, managing director DuPont Malaysia.
