The grand opening of a new high-volume plant that will produce polymer organic light-emitting diode (poly-OLED) glass panels utilizing proprietary technology from DuPont and wholly owned subsidiary, Uniax Corp., was recently celebrated in Taiwan.

The facility was built by RiTEK Display Technology Co., a subsidiary of RiTEK Inc., in the Hsin-Chu Industrial Zone of Taiwan. Eventually, the plant will have the capacity to produce about 30,000 panels per month.

Earlier this year, DuPont Displays announced it was investing in RiTEK Display. DuPont Displays Chief Strategy Officer Stephen Quindlen was on hand for the recent plant grand opening ceremony (pictured) and said DuPont Displays is committed to working with RiTEK and developing the next generation of displays for use in cell phones and other applications.

Applying science to fulfill human needs - such as the need for brighter, higher contrast displays - is part of the DuPont integrated science strategy for achieving sustainable growth.
