DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions Announces Price Increase for Butacite(R) PVB Interlayer and Dow Announces Aid to Hurricane Relief Efforts

Specialty Chemical industry news provided by Financial News USA (OTC: FNWU) DuPont (NYSE: DD) Glass Laminating Solutions recently announced a global price increase of 10 percent for all grades of DuPont(TM) Butacite® polyvinyl butyral interlayer and Spallshield® composite films, effective Oct. 1, 2005.

DuPont's Retrim subsidiary will also increase its interlayer prices globally by 10 percent. DuPont stated this action is required due to the unprecedented and sustained increases in petrochemical feedstock, energy and freight costs. Air Products & Chemicals Inc. (NYSE: APD) on Wednesday its New Orleans industrial gas complex has extensive damage due to Hurricane Katrina, and it was not known when it would come back online.
