CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, May 30 (PIA) -- A total of 1,025 sheets of suspected uncertified flat glass panels were impounded by the regional enforcement team of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Calabarzon.

Cleo M. Duran, chief of DTI-Rizal's business regulation and consumer welfare division and leader of the enforcement team, said that four glass retailers in Rizal failed to present the valid import commodity clearance (ICC) certificates and/or stickers for the said items.

The retailers were issued with notice of violations and required to appear along with their suppliers at the DTI office for the preliminary conference.

DTI's Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 02: 2007 requires manufacturers, traders, distributors, wholesalers and retailers of products covered by mandatory product certification to secure a Philippine Standards (PS) quality certification mark (or PS mark) license for locally manufactured products or an import commodity clearance (ICC) in case of imported products.
