Boot Camp Will Focus on Educating Participants on Glass Railing Best Practices in a Collaborative Environment.

C.R. Laurence–a leading manufacturer of architectural glazing systems-has partnered with Architectural Glass Institute (AGI) to provide a one-day Architectural Glass Boot Camp that will address important topics relating to glass railing systems.

The boot camp will take place January 26th at the Finishing Trades Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The event is free to attend, and is open to architects, specifiers, and glazing contractors.

The co-hosted event’s goal is to provide an overview of glass railing systems in a collaborative environment where architects can work alongside glaziers to share perspective.

Topics covered will include railing types, design considerations, applications, code requirements, 2015 International Building Code changes, and installation methods.

The session comprises a 1-hour interactive technical presentation by CRL, followed by a 2-hour, hands-on railings workshop. The workshop will utilize CRL’s innovative TAPER-LOC® dry-glaze technology. The boot camp is an AIA/CES registered program that qualifies for 3 HSW learning units.

“As an industry-leading manufacturer, we’re committed to being an educational resource for architects and glaziers,” said Brad Thurman, sales director at CRL. “Architectural Glass Boot Camp represents an excellent platform for us to share our knowledge with participants so they may better understand railing applications and code. Our ultimate goal is to provide business opportunities for growth.”

AGI was created to serve as a forward-thinking organization dedicated to improving architectural industry knowledge by acting as a source for technical information, education, training, and support.

It provides forums for sharing collective expertise so participants are up to date with the latest advances in architectural glass and metal construction. Because CRL has over 60 years of experience manufacturing architectural glazing systems, partnering with them for the Architectural Glass Boot Camp was a clear choice.

“Our contractors have long-standing relationships with CRL and have been utilizing their systems for many years,” said Stephanie Staub, director of marketing at AGI.

“AGI is excited to partner with CRL and bring its new TAPER-LOC technology, literally, to the hands of the design community. The educational experience is strengthened by the combined knowledge of our contractors and industry leaders like CRL.”
