After over 140 years in operation, Cliff House Resort in York, Maine, closed its doors to undergo a complete renovation. Designed by architectural firms Cooper Carry and TruexCullins, the resort reopened in July of 2016.
The result is a world-class retreat that offers rich historical character while reflecting a contemporary seaside lifestyle.
C.R. Laurence provided a total of 5300 linear feet of glass railing systems to enhance the aesthetics, safety, and function of the resort.
To preserve the inspiring oceanfront views while increasing safety for visitors, multiple areas of Cliff House Resort are lined with CRL’s GRS TAPER-LOC® Glass Railing System.
The system is designed to provide transparency and attractive all-glass visuals. It is engineered to meet or exceed code requirements, and has gone a step further by being the only guardrail system that is ICC-ES approved.
A key feature of the GRS TAPER-LOC® Glass Railing System is in its name. The patented TAPER-LOC® dry glaze installation method reduces installation time by more than 50%. It also allows for easy adjustment or replacement of glass lites.
Exterior areas of Cliff House Resort are equipped with CRL’s P-Series Post Railing System. Posts are constructed from durable stainless steel, making the system ideal for the resort’s handrail and guardrail applications.
Because the P-Series Post Railing System offers refined yet subtle visuals, it serves to complement Cliff House’s casual elegance.
