Stored and processed in exactly the same way as ordinary float glass, Opaletch can be cut, drilled and toughened as standard, without any special adaptation.
This makes it suitable for a wide variety of applications from splashbacks, shelving and shower screens, to office or home partitioning, balustrading, external glazing and cladding and more.

He said: “Opaletch delivers all of the flexibility of standard float glass in a decorative finish. This means that it’s suitable for an almost endless variety of installations and applications.

“It has applications across construction from balustrading and cladding to office partitioning. Opaletch is available in 12 different patented designs. This includes satin; diagonal, offset, hatched, over-lapping and Opaletch, lines; dots; ovals; pills; waves and overlapping waves.
It’s available in a variety of thicknesses from stock. The most sought after thickness generally requested seem to be 4mm and 10mm. Other thicknesses are available upon request. Standard stock sizes are 3210mm X 2250mm or 1320mm X 2140mm.
The acid-etching process is applied to single sides as standard but can also be manufactured with a dual-sided finish depending on application and the light translucence and finish required.
“Handling and processing of Opaletch is going to be familiar to all glass processors. It can go anywhere standard float glass can go.
“But the opportunity to build-in margin is just in a different league”, added Matt.
Operating from 16 locations throughout the South West and along the M4 corridor, Cornwall Glass’ service and product offer includes architectural glass, toughened and laminated glass and sealed units – including over-sized units – in addition to decorative float glass.
Earlier this year it announced the acquisition of multi-laminate specialist LW Architectural Glass, which started trading under its new name of Cornwall Architectural Glass – London, in April.
