Corning spent $244,800 lobbying government in 2nd quarter on issues such as China access WASHINGTON (AP) -- Specialty glass and ceramics maker Corning Inc., which makes glass screens for TVs, smartphones and tablet computers, spent $244,800 in the second quarter lobbying the federal government on market access to China and other issues, according to a disclosure report.
That's down from the $260,000 that it spent in the same period last year and up from the $170,000 it spent in the first quarter of 2011. Corning also lobbied the government to suspend duties on laboratory glass and textured rolled glass sheets, according to the report filed on July 19.
In the April-to-June period, Corning lobbied Congress and the U.S. Trade Representative, according to the report filed with the House clerk's office.
