Taking part of ARCHITECT@WORK 2012 in Stuttgart, QUANTUM GLASS introduced the future generation of its best seller technology: PRIVA-LITE.

This active glazing that has been upgraded to respond to the customers’ needs.

Stuttgart – 7 & 8 November 2012

The 7th and 8th of November, during the ARCHITECT@WORK exhibition in Stuttgart, QUANTUM GLASS presented its Concept Glass of hybrid glass PRIVA-LITE.

This new PRIVA-LITE glazing has been developed to improve the optical characteristics and reduce the energy consumption. With the lowest haze level and the lowest energy consumption on the market, the PRIVA-LITE responds best to the expectations of the customers.

This concept glass PRIVA-LITE is the future of glazing that manages space and privacy by switching from translucent to transparent state with no alteration of light transmission.

It is not an exaggeration to say that this hybrid glazing redefines a technology invented 20 years ago, by offering the most incredible experience ever proposed to users of such high-tech product.

Redesigned Technology

Since now, laminating a LC film was the standard way to produce PRIVA-LITE. Unfortunately, the inconveniences were becoming too large in relation to customer expectations (size, hiding power, transparency and price). It took 2 years of work for the Saint-Gobain Research and Development team to achieve the replacement of the LC film by a liquid crystal gel, directly laid on the glass. These technological innovations allow the “Concept Glass PRIVA-LITE” to offer outstanding optical and physical qualities.

This worldwide unique technology allows the glazing to have :

- The best transparency level

- The best hiding power

- The largest optimized size (1500 x 3200mm)

- The lowest energy consumption on the market (7 time less than standard market product)

- The most competitive ratio quality/price of the market

- The easiest plug & play system.

Commercialization of this new PRIVA-LITE glass is planned for the second half of 2013.
