Cornaz, CEO and member of the Board of Directors of Vetropack Holding Ltd, based in Bülach, is the recipient of the “Entrepreneur Of The Year® Family Business Award”, which is being presented in 2012 for the first time. Claude R. Cornaz is the fourth generation to run one of Europe’s leading producers of packaging glass and now has overall responsibility for 3,000 employees.
The Vetropack story begins in 1911 with Claude R. Cornaz’s great-great-uncle Henri. Over time, his glassworks on Lake Geneva developed into an internationally renowned provider, with plants in Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia and Ukraine. The “Entrepreneur Of The Year” accolade, the only one of its kind in the world, is an illustrious prize for entrepreneurship that is awarded according to the same criteria at a regional, national and global level in 140 cities and some 50 countries. Ernst & Young organised the competition in Switzerland for the 15th time, with 43 entrepreneurs from all over Switzerland taking part.
