Each year, the HIA reviews nominations of many new, emerging and venerable companies, evaluating business success, financial strength, company culture and community involvement. There are three levels of awards - Rookie company of the year, Small Business of the year and Large company of the year.
Each finalist has met basic criteria and is chosen by the awards committee to compete for the top honor in its category.
