Celebrities promise support for National Glass Week 2002

Following the tremendous success of last year's National Glass Week, Glasspac, the information bureau for the glass packaging industry, is hoping that the 2002 initiative will be bigger and better.

This year's National Glass Week will take place from 17-23 June and has been organised for several reasons: * To remind consumers of the benefits of glass packaging * To promote glass recyclingThe continued theme for the week is the 'Glass Promise' and consumers and celebrities have been invited to promise that they will use as much glass as possible and recycle all the glass they use during National Glass Week.Jilly Goolden, presenter of BBC's Food & Drink is our spokesperson during the campaign and as a dedicated glass recycler she is joined by the following famous celebrities who have also taken the 'Glass Promise': * Actress Joanna Lumley * TV chat show host Graham Norton * Tomorrow's World presenter Philippa Forrester * GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips * Coronation Street's Julie Hesmondhalgh and David Neilson (Hayley and Roy Cropper)
