Catalina Tempering Inc, founded by Randy Steinberg and Dennis Jasmer, has been sold for an undisclosed sum this month.

Cardinal Glass Industries report they have acquired Catalina Tempering’s seven regional plants strategically positioned around the US, specialising in serving the residential market with custom size safety glass for window and door glazing.According to Cardinal the plants will continue operating with the same structure as before, but with the added advantage of widening their offerings to include the full suite of Cardinal coated glass products.

This brings the number of Cardinal’s US facilities close to forty. An article in GLASS magazine quotes Steve Nelson, Cardinal CG president, as stating that the synergy between the custom tempering plants and existing Cardinal insulating glass facilities will expand their service to customers throughout the US and Canada.

“Catalina and Cardinal are both longstanding customers of Ashton Industrial,” says Steve Ashton. “With this acquisition Cardinal must now own close to 20 varying generations of Ashton automatic seaming lines.”
