Burj Khalifa – World Record For Highest Aluminium And Glass Facade

Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, 828 meters, was inaugurated on Jan 4, 2010. The tower accomplished a world record for the highest installation of aluminium and glass façade, at a height of 512 meters.

Exterior cladding of Burj Khalifa began in May 2007 and was completed in September last year.With a total of 24,348 cladding panels over a total curtain wall area of 132,190 square meters, the tower’s shimmering exterior minimizes heat transmission and saves energy. The total 103,000 square meters of glass used in the panels can cover 14 standard football pitches.
 
The two major companies delivering glass for this unique project were Glaston’s customers
White Aluminium and Al Abbar.
