Building Products Japan has supplied the glass for an innovative aluminium framed curtain walling system at the Tokyo HQ of Japanese financial media giant Nikkei.
Situated in the Otemachi district, Tokyo's media and financial centre, the building is 30 storeys high with three basement floors and necessitated state-of-the-art reinforcement technology for its construction. The curtain walling includes high-performance low-E products and is believed to be the first of its kind in the world.Three types of units have been used:
* Low-E laminated in a special order blue tint + pvb + low-E toughened + air gap + toughened;
* LAMIPANE® white: float + 3 layers milk-white pvb + float, and
* LAMIPANE® : float + pvb + float.
