The beauty of the landscape belies the current economic realities of this area. This region is suffering from sustained high unemployment and having a new glass plant failing shortly after startup was an another economic blow.
Sorg wrote a demolition scope for a failed electric melter still full of frozen glass with a very cold layer of batch on top.
After being given the site, SORG installed a 250t/d oxy-fuel furnace together with a Luehr bag house filter.
Sorg was responsible for engineering, all material procurement which was primarily sourced in the United States as well using US contractors for construction. This was a large job for SORG and the site was nine time zones away from Lohr.
Bennu had the job of recommissioning IS machines as well as cold end equipment.
