Bekaert announces its participation as a special guest speaker at the ISSP Symposium, taking place June 6 - 8th, 2007 in Kanazawa, Japan.

This prestigious technology convention is held every two years and presents high-level technical briefings about the latest innovations in the sputtering and plasma processes. Attendees are elite technical experts, recognized industry players and distinguished researchers.

Dr. Wilmert De Bosscher, sputter technology expert, will be an opening speaker in the 3rd session on Manufacturing Science and Technology. In his presentation Dr. De Bosscher will highlight how Bekaert ITO rotatable targets increase sputter coater uptime and efficiency.

Rotating cylindrical ITO targets have the potential to solve the limitations of planar ITO ceramic targets. Initial test results clearly demonstrate that display coaters using rotatable ITO targets and rotating sputter hardware significantly reduce cost savings per square meter. Bekaert’s advanced sputter technology using rotatable targets is implemented in customer coating lines worldwide to apply coatings for architectural and automotive glass (including Low-E and solar control films, and anti-reflective coatings), display glass and photovoltaic glass.

Rémy Rochard, General Manager Sputter Products at Bekaert. “It's an honour to be invited as a lead speaker at ISSP. We expect to receive valuable feedback on the test results Dr. De Bosscher is presenting. Besides, the interaction with the Japanese leading technologists will hopefully generate new perspectives for future developments in horizontal and vertical sputter solutions."
