Atofina: Kensington, CT plant receives energy efficiency award

Atofina Chemicals, Inc.’s Kensington, Connecticut Atoglas plant has received the American Chemistry Council’s Energy Efficiency Award for 2000.

This award is presented to facilities which demonstrate significant improvement in manufacturing while maintaining an energy efficient production mode.

"Our goal was to increase our production output by approximately eight percent," said Richard Hans, plant manager, Atofina Kensington Atoglas facility. "We not only achieved that ambitious goal, but in doing so, we also realized a significant electricity savings. This is a tremendous accomplishment by our employees and we are very proud of their efforts."

"This accomplishment has been a win-win for our manufacturing sector," said Glenn Beasley, manufacturing director for Atofina Chemicals Atoglas Division. "Not only did the staff at this facility achieve its increased production target, they did so while saving a significant amount of energy. We are thrilled with their achievement."
