Asahi Glass, Suzuki local subsidiary Maruti Udyog Ltd. and others, will build an automotive glass plant on Delhi's outskirts that will come online in September.
Production will meet the demands of 400,000 vehicles a year for Suzuki and Honda Motor Corp.
Asahi Glass will also start construction of a plant this year in St. Petersburg, Russia to fit locally made glass with rubber and other materials.
Toyota will be the main customer. Suzuki and Nissan are also expected to want some of the 1.5 million sheets that Asahi supplies.
