All the balcony glass panels on the W Hotel in Downtown Austin will be replaced by the end of the day.

Several of those panels shattered at three different times in June including twice this week.

The hotel says crews will begin to install temporary wood panels Saturday morning.

Also Friday Lavaca Street, Guadalupe Street and the South First Street Bridge have all reopened, but Third Street will remain fully closed between Lavaca Street and Guadalupe Street due to continued safety concerns over potential falling glass.

"As this very challenging week draws to a close, we greatly appreciate the invaluable cooperation from the City, support from downtown business owners and the patience and understanding from the citizens of Austin. We have experienced an outpouring of support from all corners of the community and will never forget it," said Stratus Properties CEO Beau Armstrong.

More than 400 hotel guests were relocated this week to other properties in the Austin area as the crews do their work on the balconies.
