Corning will shift all its LCD glass substrate capacity to the Eagle-XG segment, which is completely free of heavy metals, including arsenic, by the end of 2007, according to Corning Taiwan.
Corning's Eagle XG glass launched commercially in March of 2006. The Eagle XG is the first LCD substrate free of all heavy metals including arsenic, antimony and barium, according to Corning, adding that the material is also free of halides, such as chlorine, fluorine and bromine, making it the most environmentally-friendly LCD glass on the market.
