Informatica Corporation, a leading provider of data integration software, announced that AFG Glass, a leading North American manufacturer and distributor of flat glass, has selected the Informatica PowerCenter platform as its enterprise standard for data integration.

By consolidating data from across three operating divisions and over 40 locations into a single data warehouse for analysis by executive management, AFG looks to achieve enhanced business visibility that can help fuel improved business performance.

"Informatica PowerCenter will, for the first time, help AFG unify critical data from across our enterprise into a single reporting system," said Mark White, application development manager at AFG Glass. "We selected PowerCenter following our extensive research with industry analysts, who validated Informatica's industry-leading position. Informatica's current customer success also showed it to be the most robust, high-performance solution available for enterprise data integration. Its intuitive developer interface will result in an agile and easy-to-manage enterprise data warehouse, able to adapt quickly to changing business requirements in our highly competitive marketplace."

"We're pleased that AFG has selected PowerCenter as the strategic foundation of its enterprise reporting initiative," said John Entenmann, executive vice president of corporate strategy and marketing at Informatica. "In addition to powering new enterprise-wide visibility, PowerCenter's platform-driven data integration will help AFG achieve new business efficiencies and make it easier for its IT function to stay closely aligned with corporate objectives."

Informatica PowerCenter helps accelerate enterprise data integration initiatives, enabling enterprises to reduce IT costs and complexity, harness new technologies and ensure a single, consistent enterprise-wide view of information. PowerCenter is also designed to access, transform and integrate data from a large variety of enterprise systems and deliver that information to other transactional systems, real-time business processes, and to the business for decision-making. This allows IT management to be more responsive to business demands for information despite dramatically increasing data volumes; IT developers to benefit from reduced time to results; and users to gain a holistic and consistent view of their enterprise information.
