ADCO Acquires Chemetall's Resin Business, Broadens Its Global Presence

ADCO Global, Inc. has announced the purchase of Chemetall’s (Frankfort, Germany) primary and secondary insulating glass sealants and casting resins business.

As part of the ADCO Global network of companies, the Chemetall purchase will benefit ADCO Products directly as it adds extra capabilities to an already substantial line of assembly solutions for the window and door market.

The Chemetall acquisition further signifies ADCO’s commitment to serving the fenestration market throughout the world. With the addition of Chemtall’s sealant products and manufacturing capacity, ADCO becomes one of the largest suppliers of polysulphide sealants in the world.

ADCO’s window protection products include Polyisobutylene (PIB) primary edge sealants in which ADCO owns the market share; InterSeal DSA-4002HS, a single-seal IG sealant that passes dual-seal equivalency testing; AT-2 Muntin Bar tape with application equipment to increase productivity; TPS ultimate warm-edge spacer offering greater production flexibility; GD-677NA two-part polyurethane for superior MVT rates; liquid laminates for sound control and security benefits; plus many more.

ADCO Products is an operating subsidiary of ADCO Global, Inc. (Raleigh, NC), a privately held adhesives and sealants manufacturer. Core technologies include hot melt elastomers, polyurethanes, polysulphides and silicones, Very High Bond acrylic muntin tape, back-bedding sealants, glazing tapes, TPS (extrudable thermoplastic spacer) ultimate warm-edge spacer and UV-cure liquid laminates.
