The volume of inventory construction glass has risen by 3.-4mil sq.m compared to the same period last year to reach around 18mil sq.m, reported the Vietnam Construction Glass Association (Vieglass).
One of the main reasons for this situation is oversupply and a decline in demand.Last year, around 53mil sq.m of construction glass was sold while the total capacity is over 75mil sq.m per year.Vieglass warned investors to be careful about investing in this area but the warning can’t prevent massive investment in this industry.
Two construction glass factories with a total yearly capacity of 42mil sq.m are about to become operational, raising the country’s total capacity to more than 100mil sq.m.
