NEW YORK, NY November 25, 2009 —The old Meatpacking District will soon be home to a new 10-story glass, mixed-use, retail and commercial building. The structure received the green light from the city to go 24 percent higher than current zoning allows.
Andrew Berman with the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation says the design is out-of-character with the neighborhood.
