Hot in Tampere

Glass Processing Days, the major conference of the glass industry, was held in Tampere Finland, from 18th to 20th June 2001. The following article is dedicated to this event.

 This year the conference attracted 850 participants from 57 countries. GPD started with an opening address from Paolo Scaroni, group chief executive for Pilkington plc, who discussed ?Coatings for the 21st Century?. The GPD 2001 was divided in three main parts: The Fascinating Glass Business, the World of Architectural Glass and Automotives Driving Force. Beside its educational sessions GPD offered many socializing opportunities, such as golf tournament, city tour, fishing trip, etc. The main idea for the GPD 2003 remains the same: to join all experts of the field, in order to discuss future trends of glass industry.
