In this respect, a product with a growing market offered by the Electrical Division of the ‘Diversified Products Group’ is a High Performance EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) based interlayer film – specially designed for Laminated Safety Glass Applications called EVASAFE™.

EVASAFE™ is the ‘THERMO-SET’ interlayer film in the market with the highest degree of 3-DIMENSIONALLY CROSS-Linking during the lamination cycle.
EVASAFE™ can be processed in both ways – WITH AUTOCLAVE and AUTOCLAVE-FREE - in laminating ovens/kilns with vacuum system.
Thanks to EVASAFE™, specialized glass processors are finally in the position to produce a wide variety of highly quality consistent products.
These products range from the Laminated Safety Glass with unique performance, to value adding products with various types of inserts.

EVASAFE™’s excellent stability in mechanical, thermal and optical properties is due to its densely cross-linked structure. The cross-linking capability of EVASAFE™ originates from the unique production process.

EVASAFE™ should not be mixed up with other EVA-based interlayers in the market. These generic EVA products are mainly thermoplastic materials and cannot be used in Laminated Safety Glass applications.
The ‘thermo-set’ interlayer EVASAFE™ offers great number of advantages and unique features compared to other market known thermoplastic/generic interlayer materials.

EVASAFE™ is very easy to use, to store and to handle.
EVASAFE™ offers SUPERIOR ADHESION and this not only to glass, but also to various insert media.
EVASAFE™’s LOW MELT VISCOSITY supports various kinds of insert applications of a value-adding and multi-functional nature.
The low melt viscosity enables good compatibility with tempered glass, kinds of applications as well as inserts with uneven/rough surfaces, e. g. some wood veneer, paper, stones etc.

Optical properties, like Transparency, low Haze, low Yellow Index and a good UV cut-off are key properties for a good quality, stability and durability of the end product.

EVASAFE™ provides for VERY HIGH MOISTURE RESISTANCE. It can be used in OPEN EDGE FAÇADES or other OUTDOOR applications like bus stops/balustrades and others – with or without insert or inlay.
EVASAFE™ offers excellent protection against UV aging.
EVASAFE™ does NOT contain hazardous PLASTICIZERS and offers compatibility with a wide range of sealants.
EVASAFE™ can be configured in special applications ensuring VERY GOOD SOUND INSULATION properties.
With regard to all these unique properties EVASAFE™ is an exceptional product for internal and especially external usage - even under open edge conditions.
EVASAFE™ is a synonym for long life durability. NO OTHER interlayer realizes such long term durability and stability.
EVASAFE™ shows already an eight to ten times higher shear modulus at room temperature compared to commonly found interlayers in the market.
At higher temperatures, e.g. 50°C, this difference increases to a 100 times higher value for EVASAFE™ for loads acting for more than 10…20minutes.

EVASAFE™ Interlayer Film for Laminated Safety Glass exists in two different blends: CLEAR and MILKY-WHITE.
Other colour and shade combinations can be achieved by inserting for example a coloured or imaged polymer film with a design/photograph.
Due to the low melt viscosity you do not need to have different thicknesses and can work with multiple layers of 0.4mm thickness.
This allows you to standardise and minimise your stock.
Standard widths are 1260mm, 1800mm and 2200mm for the clear EVASAFE™ as well as 2200mm for the milky-white EVASAFE™.
The standard length is 130m for clear EVASAFE™ and 65m for milky-white EVASAFE™. Clear EVASAFE™ in double thickness (0.8mm) is available in 1800mm width and 65m length.
