Founded in 1969 in Castello di Godego, Treviso, north-east Italy, SIMEC began activities as a small workshop. Now present in the natural stone, ceramic and glass processing technology sectors, the company is well know and appreciated the world over for the quality of its machinery and plants. SIMEC has about 190 employees, made up of specialized staff for the designing, constructing and assistance of its entire range of products, on 28,000 square metres of covered production area. PRODUCTION
SIMEC is one of the main international firms in the manufacture of glass processing machines and systems, as well as: automatic lines for the production of double- and triple-insulating glass panels (up to 3,210h x 6,000 millimetres), automatic sealers, automatic stocking plants for glass, automatic grinding machines for low-E glass, automatic seaming machines, spacer bar bending machines, automatic butyl machines, automatic desiccant loaders and a vast series of complementary machines.
MACHINERY HIGHLIGHTS
Radius
The SIMEC Radius Automatic Spacer Bar Bending Machine is extremely versatile, equipped with a head that is able to bend spacer bars made of aluminium, steel, stainless steel, plastic, as well as the innovative “warm edge” spacer bars. The cutting step has an automatic feeding system that picks up the spacer bars, measuring five to six metres in length, directly from the store, ensuring continuous connection of the spacer bars and a check of their length. Bending is carried out with maximum accuracy and precision. This spacer bar bending machine is able to produce straight and curved forms on spacer bars with minimum dimensions 80 x 220 millimetres and maximum 1,800 x 2,200 millimetres (for larger dimensions, bending is automatically carried out in two parts). The machine may be equipped with a system for the remote control of processing (optional), to load the bending data directly from the offices.
Gas Press
The SIMEC Gas Press is able to couple, fill with gas and press double, triple and stepped glass panels. This machine lifts the first glass panel and holds it suspended thanks to an oil-proof rubber panel equipped with independent suction pads with fast release. The second glass panel arrives (its size is measured and the aluminium spacer frame is applied with butyl) and is automatically positioned in front of the first one thanks to an air cushion system. The mobile surface equipped with vertical mobile bulkheads, hermetically closes the two glass panels on the sides, leaving the possibility of injecting gas on the lower side. A feeler measures the filling level and allows the pressing of the two glass panels. The press, which is completely automated, is controlled by a PLC and all the functions can be operated from the front touch screen panel which, besides taking care of the control and the working diagnosis, also suggests to the user the steps to take in case of error.
