GlassTech Asia 2005, the fifth event in the series, is now officially supported by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), a public affairs organization of the Thai Government, since its move from Singapore to Bangkok last year.
Consequently, GlassTech Asia 2005 has also grown in size, hitting some 3,500 square metres of net exhibit space, and occupying some 10,000 square metres of gross exhibit space at the IMPACT Arena Exhibition and Convention Centre from 30 November to 2 December 2005.
Mr Edward Liu, Managing Director of Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd, explained that the organizers, CEMS and the Singapore Glass Association have decided to move the event from Singapore to Bangkok at the request of the exhibitors.
This move also coincided with the new strategic direction by the Thai Government to attract more conventions and exhibitions to be held in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
This is the first time that the GlassTech Asia exhibition will be brought beyond the shores of Singapore to an overseas location since its inauguration in 1998.
Mr Liu added: ? Thailand has been chosen because of its robust economy and is a favored South-East Asian location for automobile and building industries, both of which influence the glass reinforcement markets.?
With strong support from TCEB, exhibitors and trade visitors, GlassTech Asia 2005 is set to be amongst the largest glass shows in Asia Pacific in the near future.
