Designers, especially those in the insulation glass sector, are constantly seeking new technologies that will be consonant with their future research: new shapes, types and sizes as well as flexible, innovative technologies.  Since its inception, For.El. S.p.A. has carried on the thousand-year-old Venetian glass-making tradition. The company has in fact been developing modern technologies for the processing of double-glazing since its fonundation in 1975 when Fortunato Vianello set up a workshop producing glass-processing equipment in Vallio di Roncade (Treviso). His was a pioneering venture in an emerging and rapidly expanding sector that called for extremely dynamic and creative solutions.
When For.El. manufactured the first automatic double-glazing lines, the main idea was to solve those basic issues which operators in the glass industry had been facing. At the time, the concept was very innovative and brought to the light of day several solutions that have revolutionized traditional processes. For.El’s success is driven by several factors, among which a constant desire for improvement, courage and creativity, while utilizing the latest technology and producing high quality glass machines.
Over the years For.El has brought to market several inventions such as the first automatic plant for double-glazing, the first machine to load gas with a laminar procedure, the first low emissive-glass washing system, and of course, the first machine in the world that can cut laminated glass vertically. The operating process is revolutionary and fully automatic. The glass sheet remains in a vertical position throughout the processing and handling procedures. Everything is managed by specially-created software, which by exploiting the simultaneous and optimal use of two cutting bridges, together with the performance of the innovative processing cycle, can cut over 800m per 8h shift. The FOR.EL cutting line offers: precision, evenly-stretched PVB on the whole cutting length, no breakage, calculations of simulated processing times and a reduced working area.
For.El.’ s double-glazing line is now enhanced by state-of-the-art, high-precision, error-free, highly reliable coupling machines. To complete this line-up there are three totally automatic machines that together produce spacer frames. These are: the spacer bending machine, the desiccant loading machine and the butyl application machine. The whole process is optimized to reduce the cost of labourand materials, while still guaranteeing high quality.
For.El. is renowned and imitated throughout the world, yet still retains its reputation as a unique company. Research is carried out non-stop in For.El’s laboratories. Currently there are many different projects in the pipeline, and some new patents are waiting to be launched on the global market. Machines and materials are being tested constantly, and are then passed on to production lines where the machines are created bearing the famous For.El. trademark. The results achieved at the end of this process - starting from research and ending in the glassworks throughout the world, not only depend on an extraordinary capacity for innovation, but also on the commitment, determination and co-operation of a consolidated group that knows how to respond perfectly to the challenges of the global marketplace.
