The importance of cooling systems
While coolants are often an underrated factor, experts have demonstrated that the usage of coolants mixed with water produces better results in glass processing operations.
In addition to grinding wheels and glass-working machines, cooling systems are also important for the treatment of glass surfaces. The use of only water as a coolant is in many cases insufficient to meet today's standards in glass quality and productivity. Special synthetic coolants are therefore used, mixed with the water to obtain better results. The main function of synthetic coolants is to provide the working glass surface with fresh and sharp diamond grains, thus increasing diamond wheels performance. The usage of synthetic coolants together with water improves glass operations without influencing the quality of processed glass, thus guaranteeing several benefits: Increased grinding and drilling efficiency, prolonged lifetime of the diamond tool and reduction of machine corrosion. With relatively little investments it is possible to increase productivity and reduce maintenance costs of glass-working machinery.
